Read Me!

Victorian public libraries are participating in the Read Me! project which involves books left in public places for people to take and read.  To assist libraries to participate and to use the program to encourage visitors to their libraries the attached stickers are available.  These can be customised with  your library's logo and contact information:

Victorians Love Libraries

The Victorians Love Libraries campaign was launched on March 19th 2012 at Clayton Library by the Minister for Local Government, Hon Jeannette Powell.

Here is a video of the launch produced by Channel 31  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-K__KB5Wwc0

VLL is a joint initiative by PLVN and the MAV

In 2011 the  the Save Our Libraries—Fairer Funding campaignwas initiated by MAV in response to the state government’s proposal to cut library funding in 2011.  This was overturned thanks to the weight of public opinion and effective lobbying by MAV, local councils and Public Libraries Victoria Network.

VLL aims to build on the work done in 2011.

Campaign objectives

Our aims for this second phase are twofold—to strengthen public support for libraries and to gain new champions in government.
